Christina D. - Maternity Session

Expectant parents Christina and Damien had to reschedule their maternity session
due to uncooperative weather. Our first attempt to get together just happened to
be THE coldest weekend in January. It was somewhere in the 30s or 40s which is
considered freezing for SoFla standards.

Luckily, with weather typically being as fickle as it is, the following week
was much warmer. The day we met was simply gorgeous and despite the
crowds of beach-goers (not what I was expecting for a Monday), we managed to
work our way amongst the masses. Unfortunately Damien was unable to join
us this time around since he was out of town for work.

Mommy-to-be is as radiant as ever. She has about a month to go and is
super excited to meet her baby boy Dylan. Christina brought a few things
from Dylan's nursery to feature in her session. Fond of monkeys, she posed
with this adorable little plushy monkey that I'm sure Dylan will love!

I can't believe that when I first met Christina it was at the baby shower for
my daughter, and now she will be a mommy herself! Congrats to both you.
Can't wait to meet the little guy!

In Celebration of Lucia Mercedes

In about a month, first time parents Lia & Matthew will be welcoming the
newest addition to their family, Lucia Mercedes.

Joined by their close friends and families, the expectant parents celebrated their baby shower
at the amazing home of one of their close friends. The shower was held in the garden of this home
and at first glance, I was blown away by its charm. Then as I started engaging myself in
all the little details, I could truly see how much thought & creativity
(and love!) was put into planning this baby shower by family and friends.

In addition to the decadent menu, there was a super cute candy station.
Jars, jars, and more jars filled with all sorts of candy and treats!
And some more jars...at the next station: Coffee and tea.
A variety of flavored tea bags sorted into jars with dainty handmade labels. Loved it!
But the jars didn't stop there. Jars were also used as part of the elegant centerpieces,
containing pink roses topped with a sweet butterfly.

Before guests started arriving, we managed to squeeze in a mini-maternity shoot.
What a fun and outgoing couple...they were so relaxed and candid, I wished we had a full-on
maternity session! During our shoot, Lia was encouraging Matthew to "channel Don Draper"
(of the TV series Mad Men) while she channelled Betty Draper. From our brief one-on-one
time, I learned that the soon-to-be mommy was into all things vintage.
This inspired me to do a vintage "look" for their maternity shots. It's not a style
I've used in the past, but I'm looking forward to using it again in the future!

50 Fabulous Years

Algie & Ariel Moss celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on December 22.
It was very sweet that after so many years, Ariel was still having some wedding jitters.
It was a crisp, cool day. Festive holiday music filled the room.
Their guests enjoyed the amber sunset during cocktail
hour at the Pembroke Lakes Country Club in Pembroke Pines.

The couple was joined by their family - 3 children & 6 grandchildren - to celebrate
their cherished marriage. Congratulations again to the happy couple!
